This is how Crossfit and the Paleo Diet would change my life forever !
About 5 years ago, just after my 45th birthday my daughter Alyssa told me about a new “gym” that her and her friends had just gone to. I didn’t really care to join another gym since I had joined a new gym about every other year since I was 21, and had never realized any results. Alyssa convinced me and my wife, Chrissy, to go try the “orientation” class. I thought that I was not going to make it through that first class. I nearly threw up but I was committed. I told Rich, my business partner, about it and he had the same attitude as me… just another gym. We decided to join, so we paid our money and put our pride on the line, as did my wife and 2 daughters as well.
I started training at Crossfit Old Bethpage in July 2007. Chris trained with us and we learned from him while working with him. In my experience CF training is the best mix of strength, endurance, and camaraderie out there. There are no obstacles, fancy equipment, egos of the trainers/ members, hard-to-understand programming between you and top-notch coaching, mentoring, nutritional evaluation, motivation, and results (assuming you are willing to dedicate your time and energy). It’s obvious Chris "gets off" on the results of his clients, which is exactly what you want out of your trainer.
But that's not all. With the help of Chris, Crossfit and the Crossfit team, I have lost the most weight and inches off my waistline .Today, I run, row and lift weights regularly. I do full push-ups, kipping pull-ups and can sprint 500M on the rower in one minute, thirty seconds. After learning much about the Paleo diet from Chris, I now eat more fish, less red meat and more high fiber fruits and vegetables. I have more energy than ever, a better attitude, a new wardrobe and, overall, I am in the best shape of my life. It feels amazing when people I have known for years, but have not seen for some time say, "Wow you look great! How did you do that, what’s the secret?" I tell them I owe it all to Crossfit and Paleo. I wouldn't be where I am at today in my life if it wasn't for my Crossfit family
The past 3 weeks have been awesome! I can't thank you guys enough for making training fun again!
As you guys know Ive played College Football, been to numerous NFL camps and even played for the New York Dragons(AFL), and I can tell you that was the last time I enjoyed working out this much. Had I been training with you guys then, I might still be playing!
To the rest of you reading these Testimonials, my only advice is to "shut down" your computer, get in the car and drive over to Syosset or Farmingdale NOW. If your still reading you've wasted to much time. I promise you, it will be worth it!!!

I've been CrossFitting for over two years now and it has had such an incredible impact on my life. It has brought my health and fitness to levels I have never imagined. I'm doing things I have never imagined. Expectations are being exceeded on a daily basis. I've also met so many wonderful and inspiring people.
The instructors -Chris and Jay - provide endless amounts of knowledge, experience, and motivation.
I've been attending Crossfit CLI classes for approximately 5 months and I am completely hooked. What separates this gym from any other is the people that frequent the daily classes. You have no choice but to be inspired by the performance of those around you. I absolutely love coming to class and pushing through a workout no matter how hard it is. All of our egos get shoved aside and we help push each other everyday. Chris's positive vibes/instruction filter through room and it helps make hard, gut busting workouts very fun!
Chris, it is great to hear all the buzz regarding paleo in and around the gym. I believe Crossfit and Paleo go hand in hand , you can't do one and not the other. Also, I believe that if I eat total strict Paleo right up until my next workout then I am fully prepared to switch my body and mind into beast mode and attain the Rx -WOD and Max Lifts for that day. Paleo is the Engine and Fuel of the Crossfit Program. Like you have told me, "Go have a Steak and some Veggies"
I've never liked working out. Luckily, I never really had to work out. I was always the "too skinny" girl that could eat anything and stay lean. My nickname in school was Olive Oil or Mrs. Salty (ya know...the pretzel guy's wife). After having my 2 kids, I hired a personal trainer to help me get "toned." I never broke a sweat during a workout. Then, 40 hit and my thyroid stopped working properly. For the first time in my life, I was putting on weight. I tried to step it up with the trainer, but never really exerted myself....then there was Crossfit. I can't believe the things I have done at Crossfit. I'm running for the first time in my life. I'm sweating. I feel strong. I'm sore almost every day of my life....but I love the way it feels to exert myself. I'm happier, less anxious and have more energy. I just had my thyroid checked and await the results. I have a funny feeling that its working again! I'll keep ya'll posted on that. I love the people I train with at Crossfit and, of course, Chris and Ann are tremendous. I'm thankful I found you.
I've tried many exercise programs and gyms over the years and have never stuck with any of them, having always gotten so bored very quickly. Crossfit is like no other fitness program I've ever experienced. Every day brings something new.....you never know what's in store for you day to day. And you definitely get results. Not only have I become more toned, but I've gotten to be so much stronger. A huge accomplishment for me is that I recently ran a 5 mile race in Central Park. It's important to know that I literally was never able to run more than a block before I started at Crossfit. I also love the camaraderie there. Everyone is so friendly and supportive of each other, and Chris is a great trainer. He is encouraging and patient, while pushing you to perform at your maximum physical potential (but not without a sense of humor). I'm so grateful that I found Crossfit. It has become a big part of my life.
Crossfit is the best part of my day! It's tough, but so is life. Because I Crossfit, I know I'm ready when life throws the kitchen sink at me!
Crossfit has been the greatest program I have ever been apart of. I Have never been to an actual gym of any kind before i joined. The people you meet and the accomplish you make is so great. Chris Is a great trainer and so is the Crossfit community here at CFCLI. Everyone is so encouraging to one in another and they really push you to your limits where you would never think you can accomplish and that is just one of the many great things that this gym has to offer. September is my 7th month of being here and coming from a person like me who has never worked out in there life and seeing how fast results came to me from this gym it hasmade me a better person and really opened me up to new things so far in my life. I plan on sticking with Crossfit for my life this is such an awesome place to be.
Crossfit changes lives. Does anything else need to be said?
Crossfit is more then a gym. Crossfit is a daily challenge. I am 44yrs old. I have 3 kids. I have belonged to many gym's in the past, this is unlike anything I have ever done. Chris is with you every step of the way. Chris will train you and show you how and what to eat. The other member's alway's have a smile for you and plenty of word's of encouragement. We are all in this together ( team work). I am amazed at how strong I have become in such a short time. I am happier inside and out.
Over the course of my life I have tried many gyms only to quit after a few months. But when my brother (who is a great athlete) was getting his but kicked at Crossfit I became curious. That was 2 1/2 years ago and I am still there 4 to 5 days a week. Chris has showed me I can do things I never even thought possible. In the first 6 months I went down 2 sizes and was able to run a 5K when before I was lucky I could run a block. It is definitely a program I will always stick with. Of course Crossfit Central LI is what it is because of Chris and all of the members that support each other every day!
Chris I have been with you since day 1- you are the glue that keeps CFCLI together and makes it a family. You have inspired me to be the best I can be. You have influenced me to continue working hard to achieve goals I never thought were possible. Thank you for being a friend and trainer.
CrossFit has really changed my life. It is by far the best program created. All your workouts are full functional movements done at high intensity, which makes it fun
Not only have I become stronger and faster but mentally as well. Now instead of telling myself " I can't" I know I really "can" and won't stop until I get it! Chris you're the best!!
